Opportunities

Alpha Readers

*Currently full from taking on new ARs* Alpha Readers can be writers and/or readers. In the early stages of drafting, an Alpha Reader will read the unedited story and give general feedback on what’s working and not working plot-wise, if some characters don’t add to the story, and if anything is missing. There’s less focus on line by line feedback and dialogue, but may point out parts that are unclear. Please understand that this is done without payment and on a voluntary basis. In exchange, and if in agreement, I can show my thanks by adding your name to my Acknowledgement Page of the novel. If interested in Alpha reading, please reach out!

Critique Partners

*Currently available* Critique Partners are typically writers who are also working on a project. We would exchange work, usually with similar word count and genre (subject to change and adjusted to work for different situations), giving constructive and reader feedback on things from plot, characters, pacing, etc. while keeping in mind it’s unedited work. This is typically done during the earlier stages of writing. If interested, please reach out and we can sample each others’ work and see if we’re a good fit!

Beta Readers

*Currently available* Beta Readers can be writers and/or readers. Once a novel has gone through multiple rounds of Critique Partners and Alpha readers, a Beta Reader will read the mostly edited story while bearing in mind that the work hasn’t been professionally edited and there are still bound to be mistakes. Most inconsistencies and confusing prose is cleaned up at this point. Beta Readers will give general reader feedback on what they enjoyed about the story (and what they didn’t enjoy), pacing, and any other information the author should consider before polishing up their work with the understanding that this is done without payment and on a voluntary basis. In exchange, and if in agreement, I can show my thanks by adding your name to my Acknowledgement Page of the novel.

Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) Readers

*Currently no opportunities for ARCs* ARC Readers can be writers and/or readers. At this stage, the novel is near ready to be published. In exchange for an honest review, ARC Readers will receive a copy of the novel, whether that is a physical book or an electronic copy with the intentional of it being read and reviewed by publication launch date. If interested in ARC reading, please reach out!

*covers & titles are subject to change

What people are saying

J.S.

Alpha Reader

“Didn’t expect to go through an emotional rollercoaster. There were several parts that made me laugh, or squeal at how cute [the MCs] interacted. I teared up over the [redacted] story and literally stopped reading, leaned back in my seat, re-read [that] section again, and had to take a break before proceeding.”

A.A.

Critique Partner

“I really loved Ailyna’s character arc. It showed realistic growth and felt really natural. I loved how you consistently used the repetition of things that had been said to her to show where her mind was at and I LOVED how you ended the book!”

E.C.

Critique Partner

“Congrats on breaking my heart twice in one night! It’s clear you put a lot into this story and it shows. I loved watching Ailyna grow to realize there was more than she knew before. I had so much fun reading it and I am grateful you let me read it!”

E.S.

Critique Partner

“Overall, I enjoyed the plot of the story. You have a lot of interesting world building, a colorful cast of characters, and a lot of stakes. I found the story engaging and I liked Ailyna as an MC. I know some people don’t like flawed protagonists but I think it makes them more human and relatable so even though she can be stubborn, I liked watching her grow over the course of the story.”

B.C.

Critique Partner

“I do know a lot of romantasy books use dual POV and I actually like that yours doesn’t. It’s refreshing and keeps secrets from us until you have Ailyna learn them. I love 1st person POV for that reason!”

M.W.

Critique Partner

“This book was intense but so, so good! And I think this is an excellent stopping point for book one. I loved this and can’t wait to start book two.”
